Bio Information
J. Bo Turney specializes in criminal defense and probate. He received his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law in 2014.
Prior to forming Irigonegaray, Turney, & Revenaugh, L.L.P., Bo was a Director of Legal Education for BARBRI, and served as the Assistant Director of Academic Support and Bar Preparedness at Washburn School of Law. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with Charleston School of Law, focusing on bar-exam preparation.
Bo serves as on the boards of Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy, Leadership Greater Topeka, Topeka Pride, the Sam A. Crow Inns of Court, and KC Legal.
Beyond law
Bo earned his Bachelor of Arts from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and maintains a keen interest in the performing arts.
You may even find him performing in a play at the Topeka Performing Arts Center if you are there at the right time!
He also actively supports the Topeka Civic Theater, Great Plains Theatre, and the local arts community.
Community leader
Bo served as the Chair of the 2020 Programming Committee for Leadership Greater Topeka, which plans events and helps to shape the curriculum for the next round of leaders to benefit from Leadership Topeka. Bo is also an executive board member of Topeka Pride and loves to educate the local community about LGBTQ-related issues.
The Jayhawk Area Council selected Bo as one of Topeka’s “Top 20 Under 40” in 2019, which honors individuals for their personal and professional contributions to the community.
